Pick / Scan Order

Pick Order

Pick Order is the main screen used by the warehouse picker when picking products for a single Shopify order.

This page is designed for fast, focused picking with support for manual picking, barcode/SKU scanning, picker assignment, notes, print, and activity tracking.

Pick Overview

At the top of the page, Pick List shows a summary of the current pick session:

  • Mode shows whether the order is being picked manually, by scan, or in hybrid mode.
  • Picker shows who is assigned to the pick.
  • Progress shows how much of the order has been picked.
  • Open lines shows how many product lines still need picking.
  • Created shows when the pick session was started.

A progress bar shows how close the order is to being fully picked.

Assigned Picker

The assigned picker section lets you choose who is responsible for the pick. If no picker is assigned, the section is open by default.

If pickers have been added in Settings, they appear in the dropdown. Use this when the warehouse team wants to track who picked each order.

Scan To Pick

The Scan to pick section is used for barcode and SKU scanning.

The picker can:

  • Scan a barcode
  • Type a barcode manually
  • Enter a SKU manually
  • Clear the scan input with the X button
  • Use Focus scanner to place the cursor back in the scan field

Most barcode scanners should be configured to send scan + Enter.

When a scan matches a product line, Pick List updates the picked quantity and keeps the scanner input focused for the next scan.

Pick Options

The right-side Pick options section controls how scanning and picked lines behave.

Options include:

  • Scan adds +1 per scan
  • Pick full remaining qty per scan
  • Hide picked lines
  • Show picked lines

Scan adds +1 per scan is the safest option when each physical unit should be scanned. Pick full remaining qty per scan is useful when one scan should pick the entire remaining quantity for that product line. Hide picked lines keeps the picking area cleaner by hiding lines that are already fully picked.

Pick Lines

The Pick Lines section shows the products that need to be picked.

Each product line can show:

  • Product image
  • Product name
  • SKU, when available
  • Quantity
  • Picked quantity
  • Pick status
  • Barcode
  • Manual pick buttons

Available manual actions:

  • -1 reduces the picked quantity by one.
  • +1 increases the picked quantity by one.
  • Mark all marks the full line quantity as picked.
  • Reset sets the picked quantity back to zero.

A green checkmark appears on picked items, making completed lines easy to identify.

Barcode And SKU Matching

Pick List can match scans against:

  • Product variant barcode
  • Product SKU
  • Variant SKU

If a scanned barcode or SKU does not match any order line, Pick List shows an error message and keeps the scanner input ready.

Pick Status

The right-side Pick Status section shows the current status of the pick.

Common statuses include:

  • Open
  • In Progress
  • Partially Picked
  • Picked
  • Completed

This gives the picker or manager a quick view of where the order is in the picking process.

Actions

The Actions section includes quick links for:

  • Printing the pick list
  • Opening the order in Shopify
  • Returning to the Pick Queue

Use Print when the warehouse needs a paper pick list. Use Order to open the original Shopify order. Use Queue to return to the main Pick List Queue.

Picker Note

The picker note is an internal note for the pick session.

Use it for warehouse information such as:

  • Missing item
  • Damaged item
  • Waiting for stock
  • Special packing instruction
  • Manual check required

The note is saved on the pick session and can be reviewed later.

Recent Activity

Recent Activity shows the latest actions for the pick session.

Examples include:

  • Pick started
  • Picker assigned
  • Product quantity updated
  • Product scanned
  • Picker note updated
  • Pick completed

The section shows the most recent activity first. Use View all to expand the activity list when more entries are available.
