Using Product Locations in Other Tools (No Coding Required)
Product Locations aren’t just for the extension itself.
They can also be used automatically by other plugins and tools in your store — without any custom setup.
What this means for you
When a product has a Product Locations – Location, that location can be reused by:
- Pick List & order fulfillment tools
- Reports and exports
- Other plugins that read product data
- Custom workflows built on WooCommerce
You don’t need to duplicate locations or manage extra fields.
Smart, context-aware locations
StockTrack always returns the right location at the right time:
- When picking orders → the fulfillment location is used
- When working in StockTrack → the selected warehouse/location is used
- When no location applies → nothing is returned
This avoids confusion and ensures accurate data across your store.
Pick List integration (current behavior)
Pick List for WooCommerce supports Product Locations via custom product fields.
When using Pick List together with Product Locations, you can display location data by selecting one of Product Locations – location fields as a custom product field in Pick List settings.
You can choose to show:
- StockTrack Location ID, or
- StockTrack Location Code (recommended)
This allows pickers to see where products are located during fulfillment.
NOTE: StockTrack was the previous name of Product Locations.
Important to know
- Pick List does not automatically resolve locations
- The selected field is displayed as-is
- No additional logic or filtering is applied by Pick List
This approach keeps Pick List lightweight and predictable.
Future versions may introduce deeper locations-aware behavior in Pick List, such as smarter location handling or visual tools.

- Locations are stored per warehouse or location, not as one global field
- Other tools don’t need to know how Product Locations stores data internally
- This keeps your setup flexible and future-proof
