The suggestions are designed to help with discovery, not to make changes automatically.

Linked product suggestions currently work on an individual product basis.
Rather than automatically generating links across the entire catalog, you request suggestions from the product row you are working on. This keeps the process focused and gives you the opportunity to review every recommendation before making a change.
For example, while editing a coffee machine, you might use the suggestion button to discover related accessories, alternative machines, or complementary products already in your store. You can then decide which of those products make sense as upsells or cross-sells.
The goal is simple: reduce the time spent searching while keeping the merchant in control of the final product relationships.
