To enable the packing workflow in Pick List:
Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Pick List → Pick Order and find Packing workflow.
- Picking only (packing tracking off): Keeps the existing picking workflow. This is the default.
- Track packing manually: Adds a Pack & Ship section to Pick Order. Staff can mark an order partially packed or packed, and reset the packing status if needed. An order must be fully picked before it can be marked packed.
- Pick and pack together (packed at 100%): Automatically marks the order packed when picking reaches 100%. Useful when the same person picks and packs in one step.
Status when Packed is optional. Select a WooCommerce order status to apply when an order is marked packed, or leave it at Do not change order status. This setting is separate from Change Status when Pick Completed; if both are enabled, the packed status is applied last.
Packing status is tracked separately from the WooCommerce order status. Pick List records who updated it and when. Marking an order packed adds an internal order note; it does not send a customer email. The existing shipped button and multiple-shipment counter continue to work as before.
How it works
Packing is optional and is tracked separately from picking and shipping. Enable it in Pick List settings, then choose how orders should be marked as packed:
Track packing manually: Staff can mark an order as Partially packed or Packed in the Pack & Ship section of Pick Order. At least one item must be picked before an order can be marked Partially packed, and picking must reach 100% before it can be marked Packed.
Pick and pack together: The order is marked Packed automatically when picking reaches 100%. This is useful when your team picks and packs in one step.
The Pack & Ship section shows the current packing and shipping status. Packing status also appears in the order lists and on the WooCommerce order screen. If picked items are undone after an order was marked Packed, its packing status is adjusted to match the remaining picking progress.
You can optionally choose a WooCommerce order status to apply when an order is marked Packed. Packing changes are recorded as internal order notes; they do not send a customer email. Shipping remains a separate action and can still be recorded more than once.
Note: This workflow tracks packing status. It does not yet provide a separate packing station where products are scanned a second time.
