The Local Stock tab is where you assign products to locations, update stock levels, and manage inventory across your warehouses. This is the core working area of StockTrack and the place you will use most often in daily operations.
You can find it under:
WooCommerce → StockTrack → Local Stock

What the Local Stock Tab Does
The Local Stock tab allows you to:
- Switch between warehouses or sub-locations
- View all products and their stock for the selected location
- Assign products to locations (individually or in bulk)
- Claim stock from WooCommerce into a location
- Update stock values, notes, and reasons
- Adjust WooCommerce totals if needed
- Work with large product sets using search, filters, and paging
It is designed to give you a clear, location-specific view of your inventory.
Location Switcher
At the top of the page, you will find the Location dropdown.
Use this to select the warehouse or sub-location you want to work with.
All stock actions on this page apply to the currently selected location.
If you created multiple parent locations or generated sub-locations, they will appear in the list automatically.

Search, Filters, and Paging
Before the product table, StockTrack includes tools to help you find the products you want to update:
- Search by product name
- Filter by category
- Choose to filter results in the table or query the database directly
- Paging buttons for large catalogs
- Save and Reset buttons below the table
These tools are especially useful for stores with many products or multiple warehouses.
Product Table Overview
The Local Stock table displays one row per product or variation. Columns can be enabled, disabled, or rearranged using Screen Options.
Each column contains either information or editable controls.
Common columns include:
- Product
- Local Stock
- WC Total Stock
- Unassigned Stock
- Reason
- Note
- Location
Products with variations are clearly marked.

Setting and Updating Local Stock
Editing Local Stock
You can enter a value directly in the Local Stock field for the selected location.
This sets the stock for that product in that location.
Bulk Adjustments
Some column headers include bulk action menus that allow you to:
- Set a value
- Increase stock
- Decrease stock
- Clear or set notes
- Clear or set reasons
- Assign a location to multiple products
Bulk actions apply to the products you select using the checkboxes.
WooCommerce Total Stock Dialog
The WC Total Stock column includes an Edit button.
Clicking this opens a dialog showing:
- All locations for the product
- Local stock assignments
- The WooCommerce total
- Options to adjust and synchronize stock
This dialog is useful when correcting mismatched totals or reviewing how stock is distributed across multiple warehouses.

Claiming Unassigned Stock
When you create your locations, all existing WooCommerce stock appears as Unassigned Stock. This represents stock that has not yet been placed into a physical location.
Using the Claim option in the Unassigned Stock column, you can:
- Move quantity from Unassigned into the selected location
- Assign products to your new warehouse structure
- Bring your local stock values in sync with reality
Important note:
If you adjust both Local Stock and Claim in the same action, only the Claim value is used. Claiming overrides manual Local Stock adjustments for that update.
After initial setup, Unassigned Stock should gradually move toward zero for most products.
Reason and Note Columns
These optional fields help track the purpose of stock changes:
- Reason — Choose from restock, manual adjustment, sale/order, or return
- Note — Add a short comment about the change
Both fields support bulk actions so you can add or clear values across many products at once.
Adding reasons and notes improves your History logs and makes audits easier.
Location Column
The Location column shows which location each product belongs to.
You can set or change this manually or in bulk.
If a product has multiple variations, each variation can have its own location assignment.
Saving Your Changes
When you are done updating stock:
- Click Save at the bottom of the page
- StockTrack processes all changes
- The page reloads with updated values
If you want to revert edits you made before saving, click Reset.
Best Practices
For effective daily use:
- Always select the correct location before editing stock
- Use bulk tools when onboarding many products
- Claim Unassigned Stock after creating your locations
- Add reasons for changes you want to track clearly
- Use the WC Total Stock dialog when troubleshooting totals
- Keep notes short and descriptive
